Recliner Reactions on USMTS - 3.2.25

Phew! That was one heck of a way to kick off the USMTS! We had a Chisholm sweep, just not how you'd expect it, and bunch of storylines develop. This season, I'm hoping to provide you some rapid reactions to the USMTS action, and to help with that my good friend, and go-to resource for all things USMTS, Brad Gorman will occasionally jump in and provide his reactions from the recliner! This weekend, you're in for a double dose as I was slow to the draw with Friday's Recliner Reactions. Let's take them in the order they happened! Friday: From the farmhouse recliner... 1) Jim Chisholm: Bear Graphix to the rescue on his wrap after issues with the printer at Chisholm Motorsports. The champ is looking good in victory lane in more ways than one. 2) Rodney Sanders: Going for his 6th USMTS title, started the year off nicely with a runner up finish. 3) Tanner Mullens: After an issue in his heat race, battles back from B-main for a podium finish. Excitement is high at the shop to unleash the new Mullens chassis. Look for a big 2025 for the team. 4) Joe Chisholm: After a year with a-mods locally, a good top 5 shows potential on tour this year. 5) Kyle Strickler: Making another attempt on the USMTS tour. 5th place run after a CDR testing session nearby Thursday night. 6) Alex Williamson: Ready for year 2 on tour. A 6th place run with a little more left in the tank shows positive vibes with his BOM Racecar by 15w. 7) Trevor Hughes: Taking over the family business from his Dad along with a ROTY attempt with USMTS. No pressure right? After an off night the night before, the team rebounds with a top 10. 8) Carlos Ahumada Jr: After a quiet '24 and regrouping, the team is looking to rebound in '25. Advancing 13 places shows the work Carlos and Richard put in the off season. 9) Terry Phillips: Continuing to develop his Bloodline Chassis. Multiple top 10's in Vado and tonight showing why TP is a championship contender this year. 10) Kyle Brown: Looking to improve after 11th in points last year. With a lot of good things in the works, a top 10 to open the season is a positive outlook. Saturday: Where to start on that one? 1) Joe Chisholm, first win with USMTS. A better start with the series compared to last year (look for a theme with top 10) 2) Tanner Mullens: much better start than last year. Updated Mullens Gen 3.1 showing it's potential. 3) Terry Phillips: battling some health issues but "ol standard setup" never disappoints. 4) Rodney Sanders: consistent finishes to start the year with Jimmy Mars helping. 5) Reece Solander: Nice rebound from the last lap mishap last night. Should've had two top 10's this weekend. 6) Kyle Brown: Big top 10 for the team. Put all 3 phases together last night. 7) Nathan Smith: dodges the wrecks for a +12 improvement. Makes that 10 hour drive home more enjoyable. 8) Gary Christian: despite a provisional, well earned top 10. 9) Jim Chisholm: Battle back after a flat tire. Doing what a champion contender needs to do. 10) Alex Williamson: makes last year's opening weekend a distant memory after this weekend.
