Chisholm "checks" off win at Boothill Speedway

In my unofficial following of the USMTS for the past 21 years, Julie was the 9th female to attempt a USMTS event. It appears she's run pro-mods in the past few years. She drivers a purple and white #87 that caught my eye when I saw it during hot laps.
Chisholm "checks" off win at Boothill Speedway

Despite one of the hotter temperature days in recent USMTS history, Jim Chisholm stayed cool back in victory lane.

Top 10 Recap:

  1. Jim Chisholm: After a few setup experiments, the 24c team went back to its bread and butter.  Tasted good back in victory lane.  Not without some issues, the "check valve cover" to his KS Engineering power plant needed some attention in the pits.  Thanks to his crew and teams nearby, the 24c was able to get it taken care of for tonight.  Jim was quick to mention it was nothing of fault from the engine builder, just the driver doing things he shouldn't and a lesson for the kids out there...*insert the more you know flying NBC logo*
  2. Chris Henigan: A prior USMTS winner, he gave the local fans something to cheer for leading the most laps.  A late race restart, Chris spun his tires and that's all it took for Jim to get by for the win.  Still a good showing despite not running with USMTS aside from when the series comes to the southern US regions.  Also proud his son finishing 9th, not the only father and son in the top 10 tonight.
  3. Rodney Sanders: Qualifying put the 20 team in a hole tonight.  Needed to come through a b-main and a 14th starting spot.  Never quit attitude once again shown in the team rebounding from the beginning of the night.  Will continue to lead in points but has been cut down from Mason City.
  4. Tanner Mullens: A good rebound after the misfortunes at Mason City.  A quiet and typical 02 top 5 run as is common this season. Looks to make some minor changes to go for the $10,000 to win event.
  5. Kyle Strickler: Another quiet but productive night.  Nothing fancy, but nothing that ruined the evening for the 8 team.  Consistency is part of this points racing fun, gained some points on Tanner for 3rd.
  6. Jason Hughes:  This is one of the dates that was likely circled on the calendar.  The Murphrey family and Hughes family have been involved for many years between marketing partners and chassis suppliers.  I could tell Jason had a little more fire tonight, not just the 90+ degree temps.  Battled for the lead with Chris for several laps.  Don't let the finish fool you, it was great seeing the yellow and blue 12 up front tonight.
  7. Joe Chisholm: Like several of our top 10 drivers, a quiet but productive night for Smoke.  Highlight was sending a slider in his heat race that barely had a ear of corn for clearance.
  8. Broc Bowen: A new comer to the top 10 recap, and I believe his best USMTS finish in his career.  He's taking a lot of bumps in his USMTS travels, but tonight's effort should be recognized for those who follow the series.
  9. Dustin Henigan: After a $30,000 factory stock win in the wee hours of the night last week, hopped into a modified this week.  Ran in 5th most of the night, before fading in the end.  Nothing to hang his head over, a top 10 run in I believe was his first USMTS event.
  10. Trevor Hughes: Winning his b-main tonight, Trevor was able to advance into the top 10.  Was given credit by Jim Chisholm for helping out the 24c team.  One thing about a touring series, everyone tries to help each other in the pits to get to the next race.

Honorable Mention: Julie Whitney Racing
In my unofficial following of the USMTS for the past 21 years, Julie was the 9th female to attempt a USMTS event. It appears she's run pro-mods in the past few years. She drivers a purple and white #87 that caught my eye when I saw it during hot laps.  Thus, my investigating took over to learn more or see if she had any social media to help grow her pages.  Link will be included in the tag.  Of course, you'll be asking who the other ladies have been to attempt a USMTS event.  Never fear here you go in no particular order.  If I missed someone, feel free to let me know so she may be recognized as well. Some may or may not be married now, I was going off their name at the time.

A modified version of the Recliner Reactions those nights will still be available.

DirtInfo - YouTube I have a voice and face for writing so you won't see me here :).  A weekly podcast my discord friends put on with a buffet of racing topics, series, schedules and other topics of interest.  I will toss them a USMTS nugget or two when asked. More importantly, they'll always leave you with "One for the Road'.
